Various shots of Guatemala

I finally remembered to down load the pics from my phone. Sorry if they are a bit grany but people around here get a little edgy if you whip out a camera, definatly label us as tourists. I find that by whipping out my phone, I don't get any stares. Everyone has a cell phone here.

Here are some of the statues that are in the middle of the streets. There are a couple of streets that have wide medians (almost as wide as the road themselves) and they install parks, trees, plants and statues. La Reforma and Las Americas are the streets with the best medians.

Here is one of some people who are important to the city.

This is the a car with the city logo and paint color. Bright green...

This is a sign asking for people to respect the trafic lights, laws are not heavily enforced here and trafic lights are more like suggestions some times.

This is the sign to go to either Las Americas or Blvd Liberacion. Las Americas is the main road that we live off of and Blvd Liberacion is the road to some malls and turns into the Carretera (highway) out of town (towards Antigua).

This is a statue of O'Higgins

Along Las Americas, there are plazas for each of the countries from Canada down to the tip of South America. This is Costa Rica. I am trying to get pics of all of them but we never seem to go in order. I should try to find all of them.

Sometimes I think that places like this, took shortcuts in the natural progression of things. They have this trucks called GraficMovils. These trucks have ads on three sides of the truck and the ads are the cool ones that change when all the little panels rotate. These trucks drive slow and usually a pain in the butt but this one was for Fathers Day and had a car in the truck. I had to take a pic of it. Sorry it is raining.
