I think that next time we will get a hotel room and read up where to go. This time we just went and but it was nice to get out of the city.
We stopped in Escuintla for lunch and at Villa Nueva (a suburb of Guatemala city) to peak at the mall and see what was going on.
From what Austin has said, this is the best highway (autopista) in the country. The roads were decent even through we saw two trucks get into accident right in front of us (thank goodness that Austin is a good driver)

Palin is a little town that is of this road. This is also the road to a nice lake, I think that might be our next trip.

Sugar cane...this country has pretty good sugar (Azucar) here and it is big business. I think that is why they add it to everything.

I really like the sceanery. It was like this the whole way. Very peaceful.

More Sugar Cane...

See the sign to Escuintla??

They have lots of housing places like this as you leave the city...reminds me of Vegas...

I would have liked to stop on the side of the road to take pics but Austin said that is not safe, a good call I think. you never know what you are going to encounter.
